The best roulette strategy for a beginner can be to choose the appropriate style of roulette to play: American or European. Once the player has decided on the type of wheel, this roulette strategy guide will come in handy. We will attempt to provide the best roulette strategies to help you play like a roulette pro.

Casino roulette (and online roulette too) is a game of chance and strategically, you can do very little to improve your odds. However, there are certain crucial strategies in roulette that will help you improve your chances of winning a roulette game. Our roulette strategy guide will introduce you to these simple strategies and also offer some important tips that will help you immensely.

In fact, in roulette the player alone has a say in placing the bets and observing the spinning wheel. However the following system can be applied to improve your odds.

Martingale - 'Double or Nothing'

The game plan is simple under this system: if you win, just re-bet with the previous amount and if you lose, double your bet. If you win the second hand after losing the first, your loss will be evened out, and if you win the first and lose the second one, your bets will still be evened out. If you keep on losing, doubling on each hand will provide you a chance to recover your lost money.

This works fine if this is not your worst day, when you’re in a streak of never-ending losses. So, be cautious. The progression of betting reads:

Number of items lost in a row

Starting stake: $1
(all figures in Dollar)

Starting stake: $2
(all figures in Dollar)

Starting stake: $5
(all figures in Dollar)

There are two eminent dangers to be aware of:

  • You can run out of money
  • You reach the table’s betting limit

Statistically, over time, the player will win as often as the casino (leaving out the slight advantage the house has), but this statistic holds true only in the long run (covering thousands of spins).

There is another higher risk variation of Martingale called the Grand Martingale. In this system, the bets are increased at a greater rate to make a quick recovery.

Grand Martingale

On losing, double your bet and add one unit to the original bet. The shortcomings and risks of Martingale system apply here as well, but the effect is magnified. The progression reads:

D'Alembert - 'Pyramid'

D'Alembert can be thought of as Martingale at a slower pace. This is a low-risk system that has a pyramid like structure. If you opt this system, you increase your bet by one unit if you lose and decrease the bet by 1 unit if you win. This system provides some protection against ups and downs but is slow moving as a strategy. The progression reads:

Parley

It is another double or nothing strategy. Using this system, you increase your bet when you are winning to capitalize your winning streak. This is martingale in reverse.

The strategy is simple. Pick your color and stay with it. When you win double your bet, and when you start losing, stick to your previous bet. Always remember where to stop, or else you will be risking your profits.
The progression reads:

No. of Successive win

Contra D'Alembert

It’s a lower risk variant of parley, played with the same objective of capitalizing on a winning streak. If you are planning to stick to one system for long, this can be a good strategy.

Contra D’Alembert is the reverse of the D’Alembert System. This system asks for increasing the bet by one unit on winning and decreasing the bet by one unit when encountering a loss.

5 numbers System 'High Risk'

A word of caution before you move ahead: this is a high risk system; so, it is strongly advised to keep your emotions and your wallet in check. Follow these simple steps:

Set $50 aside.

Pick any 5 numbers.

Place $1 each on the 5 chosen numbers. The odds will be 13.5%

If the outcome of the rotation results favors one of the numbers you placed your bet on, you will win $36. Now place the winning amount again over the 5 chosen numbers ($7 each) and ask the dealer to spin for the last time.

If you are lucky today and you get your number as a outcome, you will win $252, but the odds of this system being successful is just 12.6%

Your $50 gives you 10 spins (and 9 effective chances to multiply). If your luck never favors in all these spins, just quit.

Following this roulette strategy guide will be a good move. As mentioned above, there is no such thing as roulette strategy. The wisest roulette strategy is to follow the systems described above.
