Step 1

Upon entering an online roulette room or a physical casino, your first step should be to scan all the roulette tables and look for the placard which announces the table's minimum and maximum bets. Also lookout for any house rules specific to that casino. You’ll find them written on the table’s surface.

Find a table where the minimum limit suits your budget. Take a seat there and ask the dealer to change your money into roulette chips. To avoid mix-ups, casinos provide chips of a particular color to each player at the table.

Once all the bets are placed or the time is up, the dealer will announce the end of betting time. At that point the dealer will also set the ball in motion. Bets placed after the ball is released will be considered invalid and any such win will not be honored.

Step 4

Wait for the roulette wheel to stop. Once the roulette wheel stops and the ball has settled, motionless on one slot, the dealer will place a marker announcing the winning number.

Step 5

Depending upon the odds, the winner will be presented with the winning chips by the dealer.

Step 6

For placing the bet for the next spin, wait until the dealer removes the marker from the winning number from the previous spin. Bets placed before this will be considered invalid and will not be honored.

Step 7

Don’t forget to cash out your roulette chips once you are done with playing. Roulette chips and card game chips are different, so there is no point in retaining these chips with you. If you want to keep one as a souvenir, you can do that but bear in mind that it hasn't any real (monetary) value to you.
